There's something exciting about Vintage clothing that creates a sense of individuality, personal expression and ..grunge. Mixing something old with something new is, in our opinion, the most fashion forward decision you can make.
There's actually a bit of an art to picking out the finest, most eclectic pieces in a vintage store and yesterday we put our styling minds to work...in close to 35 degrees of heat.... in the middle of knowhere.
After two hours of sweating in the first shop, and coming across a top that literally smelt like "R. Kelly's sheets" (aka piss) (quote courtesy of Macklemore); we decided to move on to the next shop. It was there that we realised our severe dehydration had started to affect our shopping... we were seeing clothing mirages and....hallucinating. At one point I turned to J excitedly with a top which to me, in my light-headed state resembled a YSL number from the 80s. She looked at me in disgust as if I was holding something from Lowes and said, "It has yellow stains under the arms.."
It was time to regroup. We desperately drove to find the nearest corner store stocking gatorade (which is suprisingly difficult to find in a small country town) and replenished our electrolyte stores.
The next shop was amazing. We found everything from vintage tailored cropped tops to printed blouses, evening gowns and cullottes. Lucky for you guys, we will be styling and selling every beautiful piece found along the way.
In the meantime....we're looking to our favourite girls for some vintspiration...
